Thespian in the midst at NWP
A well known book, film and play was taken to new heights recently as the Eden Valley Players, a local group of amateur dramatists, put on a comedic routine of the classic novel The Thirty Nine Steps.
The Eden Valley Players are a non-profit group who support the local Lazonby Village Hall, putting on plays, comedies and the obligatory (and highly amusing) Christmas Pantos in aid of the Village Hall upkeep and renovation works.
A cast of only 5 main actors and actresses formed from the Players, including our very own Roland Hudleston, took on the roles of the 105 different characters portrayed in the comedy.
The comedy was performed on two consecutive evenings in Lazonby Village Hall in The East of the County, watched by close to one hundred eager theatregoers on each evening.
Roland worked his oratory skills to the maximum, supporting the other cast members and back stage staff who all played an invaluable part in the production, entertaining the crowd with a comedy show very well received by all who attended.
Drinks and nibbles were served during the show and all had a fantastic evening’s entertainment.
Both evenings were a complete success and raised a sum of nearly £2000.00 for the Village Hall.
Congratulations to Roland, the other cast members and staff – they all performed exceptionally well!
