North West Projects have a proven track history of a full range of professional project management services and have successfully delivered numerous complex projects under the NEC suite of contracts. Our experienced project managers are supported by project engineers, planners, estimators, commercial managers and engineers.
We have experience in using CEMAR®, an electronic contract management system, for the day to day management of the contracts that ensures adherence to the Employers document control procedure for the submission of all technical and commercial documentation.
An important part of any project is the definition of the baseline, this includes the scope, schedule and cost, that are the agreed measure of performance with the employer, also known as the Performance Baseline. Performance of the project against the performance baseline needs to be monitored by the project manager via project performance monitoring. North West Projects utilize both the schedule and detailed estimates workbooks to track both Schedule Performance Indicator (SPI) and Cost Performance Indicator (CPI).
Any good project should have a defined organisational structure, showing the lines of accountability up to the project manager and others responsible to those outside the project, e.g. functional responsibilities of those seconded into the project. Any scope changes are communicated by the Project Manager and only acted on when instructed via the change control process.
Our Project Controls team allocate the project booking number to the team as instructed by the Project Manager. We operate an electronic timesheet management system for the assigned project number and any agreed sub-codes for project reporting, which feed into the project tracking spreadsheets to allow actual costs to be recorded and measured against Earned Value. This system is a powerful tool which allows us to assess the status of the project, and ensure that cash flow forecasting and resource profiling can be undertaken.
