North West Projects take to the golf course in aid of Mayfield School
On the 21st June 2012 North West Projects held its first Charity Golf Day at Shaw Hill Golf Club in Chorley. What started off as a very wet day actually turned out better than expected. All 52 players took to the course, for an afternoon of golf and no doubt some entertainment!
The day involved 18 holes of golf, a putting competition and at the evening meal there was a raffle and an auction available for all attendees.
The winners from the day were:
Individual Winner: Chris Coleman of North West Projects
Winning Team: Chris Coleman (NWP), John Kipling, Rob Firby and Dave Capstick all of White Young Green (WYG)
Putting Competition: Liam Ferguson of North West Projects
Longest Drive: Rob Firby (WYG)
Nearest the Pin (6): Ian Blackburn of North West Projects
Nearest the Pin (16): Tony Cooper of Sellafield Ltd
The event was in aid of Mayfield School in Chorley, which is a highly specialised school catering for children between the ages of 2 to 19 with severe physical and learning difficulties. The school had been currently saving for one of the classrooms to be converted into a MOVE and Fitness room that could be used in conjunction with their MOVE facilitator. A Mayfield School representative commented ‘Our sincere thanks to Liam and his team who contributed with their generous donations, the money will all go towards the costs of creating the MOVE room’.
Both Liam Ferguson and Frank Dalton would like to say thank you to all that attended and donated to this worthwhile school, in total we raised £3400.00 which will go towards helping the school achieve purchasing the Physical Training Development Equipment for the ‘MOVE’ Project.
